1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how Hearing Pal ("the App", "we", "us") handles information when you use the Hearing Pal mobile application.

2. What the App does

Hearing Pal is a consumer hearing screening tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide a diagnosis, treatment, or clinical audiology service. Results are for personal awareness only. If you have concerns about your hearing, consult a qualified healthcare professional.

3. No accounts

The App does not require sign-in and does not create user accounts. There is no cloud profile or screening-history sync across devices.

4. Information stored on your device

The App stores information locally on your device (for example using on-device storage). This may include:

• Name or display name you enter
• Age and survey answers (for example noise exposure, symptoms, listening habits, and similar inputs)
• Screening results (scores, thresholds, hearing-age estimates, and retest history on that device)
• Care-habit preferences you set in the App
• A local flag indicating whether Premium features are unlocked on that device

We do not host your screening results on our own servers. Uninstalling the App or clearing the App's data removes this local information from that device.

5. Purchases and subscriptions

Premium features (such as the full report and unlimited retests) are offered as an auto-renewable annual subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Payment processing and subscription entitlement status are handled by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat. We do not receive your full payment card details. "Restore Purchases" uses entitlements linked to your Apple ID or Google account.

6. Analytics and advertising measurement

If enabled in a given build, the App may use Meta (Facebook) App Events and, on iOS, Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework.

• On iOS, tracking-related use follows your choice in Apple's "Allow" / "Ask App Not to Track" prompt.
• Meta may receive app events (for example paywall views or purchase-related events) according to Meta's policies and your device settings.

If Meta is not configured for a build, those events are not sent.

7. Audio and permissions

During the screening, the App plays tones through your device audio system (typically headphones). The App is not designed to record or upload microphone audio for the screening. Device volume or audio settings may be adjusted only as needed for playback.

8. Sharing

If you use Share on a report, content you choose to share is sent via your device's share sheet to apps or people you select. We do not operate those share destinations.

9. Children

The App is intended for adults. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction).

10. Data retention

Local App data remains on your device until you delete the App, clear App storage, or overwrite it by using the App. Subscription and purchase records are retained by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat according to their practices.

11. Your choices

• Do not enter information you do not want stored on the device.
• Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple or Google subscription settings.
• On iOS, manage tracking permission in system Settings.
• Uninstall the App (or clear App data) to remove local App data.

12. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. The "Last updated" date will change when we do. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised Policy where permitted by law.
